Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

I recently spoke this message to a group of Pastors and leaders in Missouri and felt it would be good to share it here. Although it was primarily intended for leaders engaged in full time ministry, I believe it will help encourage all believers.
Hello Friends of Montgomery Ministries! I’ve recently returned from over 2 weeks of ministry in Kenya, East Africa. This was my 5th visit there and each time it becomes clearer to me how hungry the people are for the truth of God’s Word. And how grateful they are for the one who brings them the Good News.
Before my parents met and were married, they lived in the same small town in Eastern Ohio. During a recent visit with my Mother and Father, they told me the story of a woman everyone in town knew as “Big Mary.” Her unusual nickname was attributed to her large frame, but there was something else about Mary that made her stand out in the town of Wellsville, Ohio. She was big in God!

The Apostle Paul spoke these words to crewmen and passengers paralyzed with fear on board a ship bound for Rome. They were caught in the midst of a horrible typhoon. The situation was so bad that all hope of being saved seemed lost. But in the middle of this seemingly impossible situation, God sent an angel to assure Paul that no one’s life would be lost.
“So that the genuineness of your faith may be tested, your faith which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire…"
I Peter 1:7
