Igniting an Unquenchable Fire

Have you ever had a defining moment in your life? A time or place where everything changed? Jim Montgomery had two such moments.

The first came when he read Kenneth E. Hagin's book The Believer's Authority in the late '70s. This book set Jim's life on a completely different course. He read The Believer's Authority in one sitting. Afterwards he told his wife, Stephanie, "This is the message our hearts have longed for ever since we've been Christians."

Jim was blessed to have the opportunity of ministering in two new churches in Ohio. Pastor Gayle and Glen Newman of Jubilant Remnant Center in Mentor, Ohio hosted us for a Leadership Conference on Saturday, July 12th. It was a very challenging and encouraging word to the leaders to become actively engaged and focused on personal evangelism.

Jim shared the truth that winning the lost to Jesus is the heartbeat of God. As leaders in the Body of Christ, we must set the example and make a priority of carrying out Christ’s commission of making disciples of all nations. The message was very well received. We also ministered for the Newman’s on Sunday the 13th.

June Ministry News

We ministered for our dear friends, Pastor DeWayne and Caren Bowen of Faith Fellowship Ministries in Benton, Arkansas in early June. Faith Fellowship, under the Bowen's leadership, has been a tremendous blessing and encouragement to Montgomery Ministries for several years now. They have sown generously and consistently into our International ministry efforts for some time now. Only eternity will reveal the impact they have helped us make in the nations where the Lord has sent us. Faith Fellowship and Montgomery Ministries are Covenant Partners together in the preaching of the Gospel, not only overseas but here in the States as well.

This edition of Ministry News will cover our recent travels both in March and April.

In early April I had the honor of returning to preach once again for our good friends Pastor Barry and Julie Nelson in Delphos, Kansas. They, along with their wonderful church, Living Cornerstone Fellowship, have been faithful covenant partners and supporters of Montgomery Ministries. What a great blessing they have been to us!

March 2014 Ministry News

We experienced a great time of ministry in Leavenworth, Kansas in early February. Pastor Chris Goodlin oversees the work at Household of Faith, and we were very grateful to have the opportunity of ministering the Word with the wonderful people of HOF.

Stephanie and I have just returned from Central Utah, where we had the opportunity of serving Pastor Kathy and Norman Mincer in Delta, Utah. They are the Pastors of Faith Christian Fellowship of Delta. Stephanie conducted a meeting with the Ladies of FCF, and I had the privilege of ministering Friday night and Sunday. Over 20 precious individuals were filled with the Holy Spirit Sunday morning.

“February Ministry News”

There is an addition to our Winter ministry itinerary we would like to share with you that was scheduled just recently. On Wednesday, March 5th we will be ministering at LivingFaithFellowshipChurch, Superior, Nebraska. We are looking forward to being with Pastor Jon Albrecht, Patsy Busey, and all the wonderful people of LFFC.

January was a very fruitful time of ministry. We had the privilege of ministering at Covenant Life Fellowship, Washington, PA, Pastor Craig and Wendy Bellis. The Word of God was greatly received, and on the last night of the meetings the Lord graciously gave us prophetic and encouraging words to many in the church. As usual, Craig & Wendy were wonderful hosts during our time there.

January 2014 Ministry News

As Stephanie and I launch into 2014, we are embarking upon our 20th year of ministry as Montgomery Ministries, Inc. Prior to 1994, I spent 7 weeks abroad ministering in India and Great Britain in the Fall of 1991, following our graduation from BibleSchool in May of that year. We also ministered in churches, and were very involved in helps ministry at Rhema Bible Church in Broken Arrow from 1989 to 1994.

Can hardly believe I am writing this December edition of our Ministry News. 2013 will go down as one of the fastest years I've ever experienced! It only seems like just a few months ago that we were celebrating New Years Eve on December 31, 2012. Time really does seem like it is flying by. What a powerful reminder that we truly must redeem the time we have now. Making the most of every day and every opportunity we have to share God's love and make Jesus known to the most people possible.

The beginning of November marks the approach of my final days in Ethiopia. I will have been here for nearly a month teaching at Victory Bible College as well as preaching in churches on Sundays.

The students of VBC are extremely committed, passionate and consecrated to the things of God. It is such an incredible honor for me to have the opportunity of being a part of their ministry preparation here in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. To be involved in a work that is training men and women who are making a huge impact in Ethiopia is a great blessing to be sure.

October “ Ministry News ”

This past month has certainly been an eventful and productive time of ministry for us. We experienced tremendous times of preaching, teaching, fellowship and encouragement with so many precious people. What a wonderful God we serve!

Jim was interviewed on television station KDOR, the Tulsa, Oklahoma affiliate station for Trinity Broadcasting Network. Jim, along with Pastor Hayne Schurz, WorldOutreachChurch in Tulsa, engaged in a lively interaction for some 30 minutes during the program taping.
